Find a home for your poetry in The Cafe Review's upcoming American Poets in Paris issue to showcase the work of Americans living and working in and around Paris.

We want to print the work of American expats to read about their experiences: good, bad, lusty, dreamy, crazy, meaty....

Criteria:

1. Poets must be Americans who have had a "substantive" parisian experience. Poets who are currently living, working, studying in Paris--or who have in the past. Poems do not have to be about Paris or the expat experience. We seek poems that have been written after the poet's experiences have been filtered throgh the alembic of Paris.

2. Poems submitted must be unpublished (except in microrun chapbook formats), original and written during or after the poet's Parisian experience. Poems should be in English, or if in French the poet's own English translation must be included. (For the purposes of this issue, other languages cannot be considered.) Up to five poems may be submitted. Poems of 60 lines or less are preferred.

3. The deadline has been extended to June 15, 2005.

4. Submissions should be made to our dedicated email address: americanpoetsinparis@thecafereview.com -- please note all lowercase and no spacing. Please submit poems in email, not as an attachment, if possible.

5. A short (up to 250 words) bio that includes the poet's Parisian experiences, must be included.

6. We are accepting email submissions, and waiving our $1 reading fee, for this special issue only.

7. For more information about The Cafe Review, check out the rest of our website (TheCafeReview.com), order an issue from us at our website or check at local English bookstores such as Shakespeare & Co.

8. Poets will be notified of acceptance via email and payment will consist of contributor copies. There will be a reading & release party to be held in Paris, probably sometime in the fall.

9. For our local, onsite Paris person, please email Heatherinparis@hotmail.com or use the submissions email address directed to Heather in the subject line.
