Writing toward Peace:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are no longer accepting submissions for this particualr
issue. Currently it is out on newsstands, so buy
an issue for yourself and a friend. Thanks to everyone who sent us
work.
At this time of great instability and aggression in many
parts of the world it is our hope to produce an issue that
looks at what language, specifically poetry, can do to facilitate
any movement toward peace. With the theme Writing toward Peace
we hope to create an opportunity for poets to look at what
peace means to us as individuals, families, tribes, nations,
and as a global community. It is our hope that the submissions
reflect our common work toward a global culture of inclusion,
respect, and openness. It is such a small planet. It desperately
needs to hear itself speaking of peace.
Poetry Submissions:
Submissions to The Café Review should not exceed three
poems (any length) and should arrive with a self addressed
stamped envelope. All submissions should be accompanied by
one dollar ($1.00), our reading fee, which we put directly
back into the production of our publication. Submission deadline
for the summer issue is May 15, 2005.
