For a limited time only, while supplies last, The Café Review is offering a unique gift to donors who contribute $500 or more: a beautiful, handmade pen crafted from vintage New England wood!
Made by Maine Heritage Inc. in Old Town, Maine, these fine
writing instruments—individually turned on a lathe and hand-sanded—are a keepsake sure to be prized by even a poet’s poet.
Owners Stan and Andrea Lucien generously donated the pens
made from wood salvaged from an elm removed from the Portland,
Maine, home in the family of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow,
from an 1870s desk found in a one-room schoolhouse in Newburgh,
Maine, from the deck of the U.S.S. Constitution, from old
lobster traps retired by Maine lobstermen, and from other
sources of reclaimed wood.
Some of the gifts come in a stunning
maple or dark-wood display box suitable for holding the pen,
as well as business cards.
Give now—and our new non-profit status will
allow you to write off your contribution while you write
your heart out!
