Stephen Burt
Stephen Burt: is a painter and printmaker living and working in Portland, Maine. Born in Deland, Florida in 1962, he has traveled extensively and most notably lived in Tehran, Iran from 1976 through 1978, witnessing the revolution. This formative period in the artist’s life nurtured both an interest in the power of decorative form drawn from Islamic art and an abiding interest in the dynamics of human passions. He was educated at Rhode Island School of Design (BFA 1987) and SUNY Purchase (MFA 1991). His work can be found in numerous public collections including, The Fogg Museum at Harvard, New York Public Library, and the Library of Congress. He is a recipient of grants from the Pollock – Krasner Foundation, Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation, and Ruth Chenven Foundation, among others. An active member of Peregrine Press in Portland, Maine, he currently teaches drawing, painting, and design at the University of New England.
Heathcote Williams
a poet, playwright, and actor, he has made a significant contribution to many fields. He is best known for his extended poems on environmental subjects: Whale Nation, Falling for a Dolphin, Sacred Elephant and Autogeddon. His plays have also won acclaim, notably AC /DC produced at London’s Royal Court, and Hancock’s Last Half Hour. As an actor he has been equally versatile — taking memorable roles in Orlando, Wish You Were Here, and Derek Jarman’s The Tempest, in which he played Prospero.

Gerd Stern
is a poet, media artist, and cheese maven. He has published several books of poetry and oral history. From Beat Scene Poet to Psychedelic Multimedia Artist 1948 –1978 was publisherd by ROHO, The Bancroft Library, University of California, Berkeley. He was a founder of the arts /technology cooperative USCO (the company of us), an early member of The Reality Club, president of the public company Intermedia Systems Corporation, and consultant for the Rockefeller Foundation arts program for NEA and NYSCA. He was born on the German/French border and presently lives in New Jersey and on the island of Jamaica.
