Kristin Dykstra: is the principal translator of Reina Maria Rodriguez’s The Winter Garden Photograph (UDP, 2019) and, with Kent Johnson, she co–edited Amanda Berenguer’s Materia Prima (UDP, 2018). She is the translator of Cubanology, a book of days by Omar Perez (Station Hill Press), and Other Letters to Milena, a mixed–genre book by Reina Maria Rodriguez published by University of Alabama Press, which has also released her translations of Cuban authors Juan Carlos Flores, Angel Escobar, and Marcelo Morales. The recipient of an NEA Literary Translation Fellowship, she won the inaugural Gulf Coast Prize for Literary Translation.

Alba Stacey Hawkins: professional philosophy bridges a dedication to educational access and achievement with research publications on human rights, women’s writing, and translation, all subjects that she teaches. She has 28 years of experience in Higher Education, including leadership positions in grant funded projects, curricular design, and as department chairperson for World Languages & Literature at Western Connecticut State University.

Tiffany Higgins: is a 2022 Fulbright scholar to Brazil’s Amazon, where she will explore indigenous, quilombola (maroon descendant) and traditional fisherfolk’s mobilization in response to a planned industrial waterway on the Tocantins River. She was the 2020 Annie Clark Tanner Fellow in Environmental Humanities at the University of Utah. She is the author of two collections of poems, And Aeneas Stares into Her Helmet (2009) and Apparition at Fort Bragg (2016), and translator of Alice Sant’Anna’s Tail of the Whale (2016). Her literary journalism, Portuguese translation, and poetry appears in Granta, Guernica, Mongabay, Poetry, and elsewhere. She lives in Oakland, California.

Katherine M. Hedeen: is a translator and essayist. A specialist in Latin American poetry, she has translated some of the most respected voices from the region. Her latest publications include prepoems in postspanish & other poems by Jorgenrique Adoum (Action Books, 2021) and from a red barn by Victor Rodriguez Nunez (co•im•press, 2020). Her work has been a finalist for both the Best Translated Book Award and the National Translation Award. She resides in Ohio, where she is a Professor of Spanish at Kenyon College.
