James Finnegan

Spring 2023 Cover of The Café Review

James Finnegan: was the secondprize winner in the 2022 Gregory O’Donoghue International Poetry Competition. A sonnet, ‘The WeatherBeaten Scarecrow’, was published in The Irish Times in August, 2021. He taught in St. Eunan’s College for thirtythree years and holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Living Educational Theory from the University of Bath. He has had poems published with The Rainbow Poetry News (2008), North West Words (2015), Poets Meet Politics (2015). In August 2012, he selfpublished a poetry book, The Expressive Mode, with CreateSpace, owned by Amazon.

James Brasfield: was born in Savannah, Georgia. He received a B.A. from Armstrong State University and an M.F.A. from Columbia University. He is the author of Cove (Louisiana State University Press, 2023); Infinite Altars (Louisiana State University Press, 2016); and Ledger of Crossroads (Louisiana State University Press, 2009). He also translated The Selected Poems of Oleh Lysheha (Harvard University Press, 1999). He has received fellowships from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. He teaches at Penn State University and lives in State College, Pennsylvania.
