Konstantin Zvezdochetov
Konstantin Zvezdochetov: is one of the leading artists in contemporary Russian art. He was born in Moscow in 1958. He was one of the organizers of the APTART movement — “apartment art” private exhibitions were the center of the underground art scene in the 1980s and the only possibility to show non–conformist art outside the “official” Soviet art system.
Dmitry Vrubel
Dmitry Vrubel: (b.1960). He is best known for his mural painted on a remnant of the Berlin Wall in 1990. The title of this painting is My God, Help Me to Survive This Deadly Love, and it depicts a “socialist fraternal kiss” between the Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev and East German General Secretary Erich Honecker. Since 2008, he has lived and worked in Berlin with his wife and coauthor artist Victoria Timofeeva.
Oleg Tistol
Oleg Tistol: (b.1960) in Mykolaiv, Ukraine, he is a contemporary artist, one of the leaders of the “New Ukrainian Wave.” His art is in the collections of Pinchuk Art Center in Kyiv, Ukraine, Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Zimmerli Museum in Rutgers University, the United States, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, Switzerland, and Turkey.
Avdey Ter-Oganyn
Avdey Ter-Oganyn: (b.1961) in Rostov–on–Don. He is a legend of the Russian contemporary art scene and the founder of the Rostov art group “Art or Death!” Today, he concentrates on homages to famous artists like Vermeer, Matisse, Picasso, or Warhol, whose art he appropriates by re–painting them in his own concept. His works are in the collections of The State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and The State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, as well as private collections in Russia and Europe.
