Apropos of Nothing

by Valery Oisteanu

Nothing to worry about, but to lose our nothingness
that lies coiled like a worm in the heart of being
Understanding nothing at all
I know that I know nothing
That little weird nothing that grips the fear
But nothing to fear but fear itself
That status quo non-nothing
Sweet impermanent silence of void
Like worthless negation of absence
But nevertheless, nothingness is not nothing
It’s just not my type of next to nothing
Indistinguishable double or nothing
Just can’t make nothing of it
Good for nothing
Nothing can be your excuse
Nothing in conclusion is the Zen of worthless
and in the word of immortal John Giorno
“Thanks for nothing.”
