Art opening May 3 with Spring 2018 Artist Matt Blackwell!
One of our fabulous Spring 2018 Artists, Matt Blackwell will be having an art opening with Kathi Smith at the Greenhut Gallery in Portland, Maine, Thursday, May 3 at 5 PM – 7 PM. The reception is free, and open to the public. The show will be up through June 2nd.
Matt will also be doing an artist talk Friday, May 4 at 2 PM – 3:30 PM at the Greenhut Gallery discussing the process and inspiration behind his new body of work. Seating is first come first serve.

The Paper Coast by Jefferson Navicky
Check out staff member, Jefferson Navicky’s “first book of stories, The Paper Coast, that was just published by Spuyten Duyvil. The stories were written over the past ten or so years he’s been in Maine. The beautiful cover of the book is from a painting by Alina Gallo.
If you’re in Maine, he’ll be reading from the book on Saturday, May 5th at Gulf of Maine Books in Brunswick.”

Matt Blackwell
Matt Blackwell: lives in Brooklyn, New York. He received his bachelor’s of fine arts from Portland School of Art. He is represented by Edward Thorp in New York, by Gallery H in Paris, and by Greenhut Gallery in Portland, where he has a show scheduled this coming May. In 2015, Blackwell received a Guggenheim Fellowship.
Rachael Eastman
Rachael Eastman: graduated from Maine College of Art, later attended the Vermont Studio Center, as has conducted independent studies in Paris, London, and The Barre Center for Buddhist Studies. Eastman’s ocean dawn marathon and storm rituals helped to incite current bodies of work, which cull from luminist and Hudson River School traditions as they meet the Maine waters. Eastman maintains small studios from the ocean’s edge in Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and from a visual perch in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
