Jessica George

Jessica George is a multi disciplinary artist who reads and writes to reconcile her lived experience with a future balance.  Her recent print edition, “Adaptation / Adaptacion“, is written with numerous methods: Memoir, political reflection, spiritual meditation, manifesto, lyric poetry and wood block carving + printing are all organized to create a hand held object. A book.

Jessica’s practice considers that each of us has to weigh our individuality with the collective. She works in hospitality, most recently as a social media and music booking manager. In the winter of 2025 she received a fellowship from the agricultural non profit, The Greenhorns.  With their support she generated a series of oil paintings on the Pennamaquan River.   She shows her painting annually at the GEM Gallery on Peaks Island, ME.

Jessica holds an MFA from the Maine College of Art in Interdisciplinary Studio and Theory and a BFA from Rhode Island College in painting and photography. She makes her home in Maine with her daughter and their dog, Mercury.
