Richard Taylor

Richard Taylor grew up amidst farms, woods and water in rural New Hampshire. Both parents were from Maine, where he now also has lived for over thirty years. Following Dartmouth College and the Army, he was a member of the 1964 Olympic Nordic Ski Team. In 1987 he came to Gould Academy in Bethel to establish a year-round training program for high school age crosscountry skiers and to teach German, Latin, and world literature. Richard and his wife Sally live in Bethel. His first book, The Absence of Strangers, was published by Goose River Press in 2017. Footfalls of the Unknown, also with Goose River Press was published in 2020.
