To Dana Johnson

by Greg Masters

As it so happens
I oppose your
hesitancy to share
the artworks you’ve
been creating in Sweden
all these years. Not so
much because I need
more beauty in my life,
there’s that — the sometimes
magic present in a gaze
standing before it — but more
to learn about how you’re
affected by the molten force
connecting us to the unfathomable,
how you interpret it, as well as
gain a deeper aspect of our friendship.
But, no pressure.
